Local activities

We have a variety of activities in the Georgetown area that are open to anyone who wishes to participate. See our calendar for specific dates. Also, feel free to contact us if you would like to see one of these activities in your neighborhood.

Our primary focus is currently on what we call the four Core Activities:

Devotional Gatherings
People of all faiths are invited to worship God in a spirit of friendliness and unity. Participants are welcome to share prayers and readings from all religions. The atmosphere is informal and children are welcome.  Please contact Barbra O’Connell (512) 864-7566 for meeting time & location.

Children’s Classes
Children ages 5-18 learn about universal values such as honesty, unity, service, and the love of God. Classes involve storytelling, music, coloring, and memorizing positive quotations.

Junior Youth & Youth Classes
The Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment program is affecting the lives of families around the world and is generally conducted in small groups of youth from 11-14 years of age at the local level. There is also a unique component in which families are visited from time to time by the animators. The ones animating (facilitating) the endeavors of the group will be seen as mentors by junior youth who within a relatively short span of time will reach the age of 15, the threshold of maturity, when they will assume new responsibilities. The program seeks to enhance the junior youth’s spiritual and intellectual capacities and prepare them to participate effectively in the affairs of their communities through acts of service.

Study Circles
Adults and older youth gather to study spiritual themes. The first book in the series is entitled Reflections on the Life of the Spirit. This book focuses on univeral spiritual values, the power of prayer, and the spiritual life we live after departing from this world.
